Uma Wang graduated at China Textile University in Fashion Design in 1996 and studied at Central Saint Martins in 2003. She launched her eponymous label in London in 2005 and has showcased catwalk collection at London, Paris and Milan fashion week.
Uma Wang is famous for her contemporary draped design and innovative pairing of textured fabrics design. She has been awarded 2011 Audi Progressive Designer Award, Beijing CCDC Best Designer Award in 2010 and the Finest Craft and Best Creativity award at Shanghai Fashion Week. She was selected as the first Chinese designer to join in the inaugural CFDA/China Exchange Programme.

Uma Wang has worked as designer for several Chinese labels which has developed her skills in textiles and patterns. She developed her unique knitting techniques and her own style and aesthetics. She is particularly good at mixing and matching different fabrics and textures to create garments with simple silhouettes and subtle details.
