Ready-To-Buy: 2017 AW Moschino Capsule Collection

Yesterday morning at 11 am (8pm Milan time) Jeremy Scott’s kitschy Italian fashion house, Moschino, went live with its 2017 AW Women’s collection + Capsule collection. While we are still expecting snow in Vancouver over this weekend, the world of fashion is busy getting ahead of the year to show upcoming autumn and winter collections. What makes tuning into this industrial taped and bubble wrapped collection exciting is that the Capsule collection “Rat-À-Porter” we just saw yesterday on runway is now available to pick up at Kokko.

This season, Rat-À-Porter 2017 AW, features literal ‘street chic.’ Not as in  skateboarders in oversized t-shirts but as in models wearing classic two-piece Chanel style skirt suit with industrial tape trimmings, grocery bag details, rat trap accessories and even trash can motif hats (just like Sesame Street’s Oscar!) walked on cardboard taped runway.

‘See-now-buy-now’ is still a wow-factor and an experiment in high fashion today. The idea of collection pieces being available shortly after its runway gives global costumers a chance to pick up new designs immediately without the 6-monthes long wait and is able to beat copy-producers. Moschino, however, started offering this concept back in 2014 with it’s MacDonald’s capsule collection.

As it is with Moschino’s capsule collections, it offers plenty ‘seasonless’ items such as rat trap motif iPhone cases, leather bags and crewneck t-shirts along with grocery bag shirt dresses complete with wrinkled paper prints and paper bag handle motif details.
