Life, Death & Peace: Christian Dada 2017SS Now at KOKKO

Christian Dada 2017 Spring Summer Menswear collection has arrived at KOKKO.
John Lennon’s song title, “Imagine,” printed t-shirt is an easy to recognize motif. Stand collar military style jackets and shirts also remind us of 1970s rock musicians like Lennon and Jimi Hendrix. While fusing 70’s musician inspirations, Christian Dada does what he’s best known for, punk rock inspired garments made with couture-like details.

Last season, Christian Dada expressed beauty of life and death with images by Nobuyoshi Araki. Christian Dada’s 2017SS deals with theme of peace, Yoko Ono, John Lennon, Jimi Hendrix, The Smith, military, uniform, poetic, earthquake, gun, police and deconstruction under the title of “Piece.” While still contemplating life and death, 2017SS yearns for peace through text instead of graphics.

Slim fit denim jackets adorned with patches and fitted t-shirts feature song lyrics or excerpts from Yoko Ono’s conceptual art piece, “Grapefruit.” Oversized military jacket with slim fit knit-ribbed cuff in exaggerated length and engraved hardwares show Christian Dada’s avant-garde approach to classic menswear design is something that gives the punk-inspired brand its elegance and sophistication.
