Groovy '60s & Paper Dolls: MOSCHINO New Arrivals

Groovy psychedelic ‘60s and paper dolls, 2017’s first Moschino drop at KOKKO, 2017 Spring Summer, Resort and Ready-to-Bear Capsule collection, does not disappoint us in what it does the best: Kitsch. Jeremy Scott’s Moschino continues to supply today’s pop culture with just what it needs, fresh ideas jabbing at cultural references and irony.

2017 SS, vintage paper doll inspired collection complete with fold tabs, turned Gigi and Bella Hadid into life-sized paper dolls. While it’s fun to add fold tabs on Gigi Hadid’s shoulders, Jeremy Scott took it up a notch by fusing Trompe L’oeil techniques with printed abs and cleavages.

Think Summer of Love, hippies and psychedelic ‘60s for Moschino’s 2017 Resort Collection. Multi-coloured floral patterns, mirrored sequins, neon crocheted panels and faux Sanskrit fonts are a tribute to Jeremy Scott’s home,  Los Angeles.

Under Jeremy Scott, Moschino’s signature teddy bear, Ready-to-Bear, is a key capsule collection. Teddy bear motif was first created by Franco Moschino in 1988 for a couture teddy bear coat worn by 'punk' German Princess Gloria von Thurn und Taxis. Resurrected in 2014, Ready-to-Bear line features the signature teddy bear re-designed every season, dressed under the main line themes, on basic garments or accessories to complete the Moschino kitschy look. This season, Ready-to-Bear is dressed in both 2017 SS and Resort collection themes. Ganesha inspired jewel crowned teddy bear is featured on Italian-made cotton sweaters or ‘paper doll’ teddy bear leather patch is applied on classic chain shoulder bags.
